Om Bjørn Rune Lie:

Bjørn Rune Lie is a Norwegian illustrator who lives and works in Bristol, England. Since graduating from University College Falmouth in 2001, his images have appeared on milk cartons, magazine covers, baby products and cider bottles across the globe.

As well as doing diverse commissions for a variety of international clients he also finds time to do his own artwork and book projects. He has so far illustrated four award winning picture books, some of which have been translated into several languages. His second book “Slapsefjell” has just been published in the US.

Inspired by childhood memories, Norwegian nature, folk art and noir films, Bjørn’s illustrations are playful and bold, yet full of details and texture. He often creates strangely beautiful scenes that are teeming with anatomically incorrect characters.

Clients include: The New York Times, Lufthansa, Carrefour, Deus Ex Machina, RIBA, The British Library, The New Yorker, Aftenposten K, Rema 1000, TINE, Ruter#, Grønnt Punkt, Markedshøyskolen, Kauniste Finland, Yee Haw Industries, and Nobrow Press.
